Installing WIDI Core in H4MIDI WC & U4MIDI WC
Follow this simple step-by-step guide to install and upgrade your WIDI Core module for the H4MIDI WC, U4MIDI WC, and other future WC series of MIDI devices by CME.
Please note, the installation requires the WIDI Core expansion module as developed and designed by CME. It will not work for the N and XN variants. Make sure you are working with the actual WIDI Core.
Installing WIDI Core in H4MIDI WC
Step 1: Prepare Your Device
- Disconnect all cables and external connections from the H4MIDI WC or U4MIDI WC
- Use easily removable tape or something similar to keep the two buttons in place, as shown in the video.
- Remove the label at the back of the device.
Step 2: Open the Outer Shell
- Use a screwdriver to remove the two screws located under the label on the bottom.
- Carefully open the shell to expose the mainboard.
Step 3: Handle WIDI Core Safely
- Wash your hands to remove static electricity.
- Take the WIDI Core module out of its packaging.
Step 4: Insert WIDI Core Module
- Align the module with the expansion socket on the mainboard.
- Insert it gently at a 90° angle, ensuring proper alignment.
Step 5: Reassemble the Device
- Place the mainboard back into the case.
- Secure it with the screws.
Now you have installed the WIDI Core module, you should start by updating its firmware via WIDI App. You can follow the instructions of any WIDI device to start this procedure and make your first connection.
